What is the Travel Traffic Light System?
Travel Traffic Light System is used to determine a country that is which is listed on Green, Amber, and Red list countries. Each color has different rules and restrictions for Covid-19 testing and quarantine. Countries and Islands will be assigned colors based on their Covid-19 health metrics, including the infection rates and vaccinations.
Traffic light systems also categorize the countries’ restrictions required for travel, it is to protect the locals from other international COVID-19 new variant.
Arrivals will need to take a pre-departure test as well as a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test on or before day 2 of their arrival back into England – but will not need to quarantine on return (unless they receive a positive result) or take any additional tests, halving the cost of tests on their return from holiday.
Arrivals will need to quarantine for a period of 10 days and take a pre-departure test, and a PCR test on day 2 and day 8 with the option for Test to Release on day 5 to end self-isolation early.
Arrivals will be subject to restrictions currently in place for ‘red list’ countries which include a 10-day stay in a managed quarantine hotel, pre-departure testing and PCR testing on day 2 and 8.
Take note that other countries have different travel policies from your country origin, even the government lists a country for the green list category, it is up to them if we are allowed to enter that country. Countries have also their requirements for testing upon arrival.
